Tim Walker Obsession
Walker first came on my radar during my photography module half way through my degree. If you’ve never seen any of his work, check it out here: http://timwalkerphotography.com/
His amazing photographs have graced the pages of Vogue magazine, month by month, for over a decade. His over-the-top, extravagant staging and fairytale stories make his style so unique, its instantly recognisable.
He specialises in fashion stories, rather than one-off shots or portraits. Although it has to be said, he’s good at it all. One of those all-rounder people with annoyingly outstanding talent.
The pictures above are from his 2005 vogue shoot with Lily Cole, and although (clearly) he’s done a whole lot of brilliant work since then, I’ve included these because I remember seeing these images and it was when my love for Walker was born.
GO AND SEE:
If this post has caught your interest, you’re in luck. There’s a reason for me introducing this guy to you. Tim walker will be showcasing 175 of his most legendary images at somerset house, opening on October 18th (and running until January 27th 2013). The exhibition is entitled Story Teller. Don’t miss out!
